Site – Daegu Intersection is a road managed by Daegu City that has a lot of vehicle traffic and is dark, so collision accidents between vehicles often occur.

Request – The Daegu intersection has no lighting facilities, so the intersection is dark, making it difficult to identify objects, and as a result, the risk of accidents is quite high. This is a request to reduce the risk of accidents by increasing the surrounding illumination to make it easier to identify objects.

Important note – This is a site where we wanted to select the location of the lighting tower to prevent light pollution and secure illuminance by using metal halide lamps. The lighting tower location had to be selected so that drivers would not be dazzled.

Solution – Jinwoo Eltech conducted an illumination simulation considering the site situation and the location of the residential space, selected the most optimal location, and constructed a lighting tower of an appropriate height. Aiming was done to prevent light pollution.

Result – The risk of accidents was greatly reduced by securing sufficient light at existing dark intersections, and even aiming was completed to prevent light pollution in surrounding residential areas.
